Selling biscuits is mainly done by supermarkets or specialized retail shops. The biscuits of Belgian Eco Biscuits are so-called natural cookies which can be mainly found in biological stores, nature shops and specialized retail shops. In 2008 Eco Biscuits invested a large amount of money to triple their production capacity allowing the company to distribute their biscuits to a wider range of customers and regions. To inform potential clients about the Eco Biscuits cookies the company also invested in the design and development of a proper website. Because the company had some previous Drupal experience the client decided to go for the free Drupal CMS. Because the website designs were already built, the client appealed to us to deal with the PSD to Drupal process. Because PSD to Drupal is one of our specialized services we were in a perfect position to follow this conversion project through to a successful conclusion.

What the client wants

Because not all website functionalities are immediately clear and because we require some prior details we first set-up a meeting with the client. What are the main functionalities, which texts need to be editable, how to add new products and how to adjust or remove existing products, how to deal with the multi-language aspect of the website and so on. Upon completing this communication part of the project and upon commonly agreeing on the way forward we could kick off the actual PSD to Drupal process. Our Drupal developers had been looking forward to this conversion project since the first day we were contacted by the client.

The start of the PSD to Drupal process

Before actually starting the conversion process our developers analyzed the edited document to make sure all functionalities were clear and fully understood so they could take a flying but smooth HTML, CSS and Javascript start. It seemed to be a fairly big task because they were provided with a large number of pages and because many subpages still had a sub-subpage. Luckily enough the sky is the limit for our developers and they managed to complete the Drupal website base in about a week time. Time to put our Drupal developers to work.

From HTML to Drupal to a live website

Upon completing HTML, CSS and Javascript we could kick off the conversion to a fully-functional Drupal theme. Similar to the HTML creation, this conversion process was completed in about a week time and we were able to deliver the project to the client and to request his feedback. The client was very satisfied with the result and after resolving some minor bugs we were allowed to install the whole Drupal website on the client’s server allowing him to start filling his website. This PSD to Drupal project was followed through to a satisfactory conclusion because our client was very enthusiastic about the end-result and we were very happy with whole project process.
