The past decennia means of looking for information have experienced a true transformation. While we used to rely on the yellow pages to find the company we were looking for, nowadays we have switched to the Internet to perform our search activities. Major part of the current companies therefore designed their own website which needs a refresh every few years to ensure proper customer targeting and to make sure potential clients keep on being directed to the website. The lawyers of lawyer association Agriius needed a new website in order to direct potential clients to the associated lawyers. Because the current website administrator had some previous Drupal experience and because of the overall Drupal popularity in Belgium we commonly agreed to go for Drupal as our website structure. The website itself had already been designed by another company and Agriius appealed to our company to execute the PSD to Drupal process. Because we have a passion for Drupal and because several of our developers are specialized in Drupal and the PSD to Drupal process we were very keen to deal with their conversion project.
The preparatory phase
Before diving into the actual PSD to Drupal process it’s very important to clearly determine and distinguish the required functionalities to avoid mistakes after project completion and to ensure full satisfaction from a client’s side. We therefore verified each and every project page in advance to make sure all our questions were answered and to make sure the allocated developers were not taken by surprise during the PSD to Drupal conversion. When everything was cleared out and all questions were answered we were ready to kick of the next phase, the PSD to HTML conversion.

After verifying the proper display of all pages in different browsers, on tablets and on smartphones we were ready to convert the HTML pages into a fully-functional Drupal theme.
The user-friendly Drupal as CMS
Many people prefer Drupal as their favorite content management system because of its speed and the user-friendly system, if Drupal has been set-up by an experienced Drupal theme developer of course. Because our developers have been building Drupal themes for many years, they know how to build a Drupal theme and they know how to make it as user-friendly as possible. Developing Drupal nevertheless requires unique and complicated designer skills resulting into a longer development time in comparison to other CMS systems. All in all we needed about three weeks to complete the whole Drupal development.
A shipshape conversion process
After inviting our client to review the website in our demo server, the client almost immediately expressed his satisfaction and we were allowed to install the website on his server, something we always do for free. Our client was able to start filling his website with the required content in order for potential clients to not only find the website but also to be informed with proper association information.
