A world without agriculture would mean a world without having the opportunity to go to your local supermarket on a daily basis to buy some food and drinks. We should be grateful for all those farmers which daily dedicate their heart and soul to the care of crops like potatoes and wheat so they can be harvested and eventually appear on the shelves of our supermarket. Many farmers though ignore innovation and durability which results into low quality agricultural products and into saturated fields because of intensive use. The Van Peperstraten Group nevertheless is one of the exceptions and presents itself as a company specialized in the innovative and durable cultivation of various crops. This family business has been active for many years in the southwest of The Netherlands and should be considered a classic example of how farmers nowadays should treat their crops.
A new website
Van Peperstraten is proud of its cultivation techniques and philosophy and wanted to share this philosophy with all interested people by means of a beautiful website. That’s why they decided to appeal to a design bureau to design a website which would quote their family business values and which would give a detailed description of their cultivation methods. We came into the picture when they decided to appeal to us to convert these detailed designs into an accessible and user-friendly website. Because we were provided with some nice PSD files, we decided to go for a PSD to Wordpress project because a Wordpress website would best suit the user-friendly aspect and because a Wordpress CMS would allow the client to easily and quickly adjust and add website content and images by means of the clear admin panel.
Elaborating the functionalities and starting the conversion process
Before we kick off a PSD to Wordpress process, we always consult the client and together we browse through the designs to make sure everything is crystal-clear. This way our PSD to Wordpress developers are fully aware of the different pages and the functionalities of all elements on those specific pages. The client’s feedback was very clear which allowed us to immediately initiate the project and to start the first project phase, namely PSD to HTML process.
From PSD to HTML to Wordpress
First of all we converted the PSD to HTML whereby we tested all pages and all functionalities available on those pages like sliders, tab pages, etc on all major browsers to ensure an optimized website display for all future website visitors. Upon completing the PSD to HTML process we were ready to initiate the second phase of our PSD to Wordpress process, namely the conversion of the HTML to a fully-functional Wordpress theme. During the development of the Wordpress theme it was very important to develop a clear and structured admin panel which would allow the client to easily make adjustments himself. Of course this wasn’t a bridge too far for our experienced developers and about 7 working days later we informed the client he could review a provisional version of his Wordpress website on our server. To the client’s satisfaction we quickly handled the minor feedback remarks and we were allowed to install the final version of the website on the client’s server. A free service which was much appreciated by that same client. This PSD to Wordpress project resulted into another satisfied client and consequently into a satisfied PSD to Wordpress company.
