The owners of dagaanbiedingen.nl experienced an increasing number of tablet and mobile phone visitors to their website. When designing a new website it therefore was of main importance to not only create a separate display for tablet users but also to create a separate display for visitors using their smartphone. Because the homepage had different display versions creating a fully-responsive website was impossible and we opted to write a script which would recognize the device the user was using at that moment to visit the website and to link the proper HTML to that specific device.
The PSD to HTML conversion
Before our developers kicked off the actual PSD to HTML process, we decided to take a final glance at all functionalities in order to ensure a proper and smooth conversion process. First of all we started with the classic website display which would be used for laptop and computer users. Various displays and multiple pages were sliced from PSD to HTML and we verified their proper display in all major browsers and on different computers with different operating systems. When everything was built to perfection, we started designing the website’s tablet and mobile version. Before we requested the client to review the website and to provide his feedback, the mobile and tablet version were also subject to thorough and detailed verification.

Upon completing the whole PSD to HTML process, our client did an extended review of the whole project. He came up with a few feedback items which we managed to resolve within the same day. The website was ready to be launched and our programmer could start uploading a wide range of scripts ripping daily offers from various affiliate websites and making sure they were uploaded to the website on a daily basis at 00:00. This website has been up and running for a few years now and is still well-visited by as well normal PC users as tablet users and smartphone users. Therefore not making the website fully-responsive had no direct or negative impact on the user-friendliness or the popularity of this website.
