Are you looking for a new television, digital camera or smartphone but are you not willing to pay the full price? The people behind NL Bieder have invented a system which allows visitors to buy premium products at extremely low prices. As soon as a new product is added to the website the system will start at a preset price and the price will go down over time. If the product reaches the price you would like to pay for it you can click the button ‘buy now’, making you the auction’s winner. The bought premium product will be delivered by post a few days later. Of course the price won’t keep on decreasing unlimitedly because various potential buyers might follow the same product and might press the ‘buy now’ button before you which makes one of them the auction winner. It is all about choosing the right time because otherwise you will be too late and the premium product will be bought by someone else.
A structured design
Because the website will contain multiple auctions at the same time, a structured design is of crucial importance. It has to be clear for all visitors which products they can bid on so no one will miss the product they are looking for or are interested in. The design has been set-up to show the most premium auction in a big box at the top of the website and all other auctions nicely ordered below this box. This way visitors will only have to scroll down to see all auctions and they can immediately access the auction page they are interested in.
The website’s realization
The design didn’t contain complicated animations or other aspects which needed to be discussed beforehand which allowed us to kick off the PSD to HTML process right after the order was submitted. In total we were requested to create 4 main pages and because the sub-pages were pretty similar to the main pages we only needed 2 working days to deliver the 4 HTML pages. The client was really satisfied with the super-fast delivery (the deadline was set on 4 working days) and with the high-quality delivery.
