The company Cliing has a clear vision which strives for an optimized mobile user return. Therefore it would maybe make more sense to call this PSD to Wordpress project a PSD to Mobile project because after all the main focus was the creation of a mobile website version. Although we were of course also requested to create a standard desktop version, surprisingly enough the creation of a tablet version was not on our to-do list. Major part of our clients who opt for a PSD to responsive also opt for the creation of a tablet version. We even always advise our clients to choose a specific tablet version because in general it is included in the price.

The client is the King

The Cliing project nevertheless followed an unusual progress from scratch because no one had indicated in advance this website needed to be mobile phone optimized. Initially it was considered a normal PSD to Wordpress project with a standard website desktop and laptop optimization process. At a later stage though it became clear the website required a different structure for mobile phones/smartphones. Therefore our client requested the implementation of a separate script which was capable of recognizing mobile visitors in order to display a different structure which was optimized for mobile users.

PSD to Wordpress

This company, located at Dublin, Columbus, had decided to extend its online activities and to launch an online website displaying interesting daily offers. Daily offers are offers which are launched at 00:00 on a specific day and are valid for only 24 hours. To realize this online daily offer website, as a first step in the process a nice design had to be created. Upon completion of the PSD-files we were called upon by the client to realize the PSD to Wordpress process. The client didn’t feel like writing the code himself and he didn’t want to adjust the code for every new deal which needed to be put online. Because of his previous Wordpress experience our client was convinced of the qualities and features of the Wordpress CMS. As soon as we had agreed the quote, the PSD files and non-web fonts were sent by the client allowing our Wordpress developers to launch the process. Because only a few pages had to be dealt with the PSD to Wordpress process was completed in the blink of an eye by our developers.

Mobile telephone and smartphone optimization

As usual our client was given the opportunity to review the Wordpress theme on our demo server in order to provide his feedback on the delivered project. After detecting some bugs which were solved on the same day by our Wordpress developers we considered the PSD to Wordpress project as completed… nevertheless we didn’t take into account our client’s final feedback yet. After informing our client about the project completion and completing the server installation we were still requested to implement a separate script changing the mobile phone and smartphone display. Normally we make use of a separate style (CSS3 Media Queries) but the client insisted on using his particular method. The client is the king and therefore we successfully completed his request.
