A company which sells security cameras via its website of course needs a very secure website. When they consulted our company and showed us some PSD file screenshots we advised them to make use of our PSD to Drupal process because after all Drupal is a very secure CMS and besides it is an easy-going system. An additional, unexpected but nice advantage, after we had advised PSD to Drupal, was the fact the client informed us he had a strong Drupal preference because he had maintained various Drupal websites in the past… lucky us! There was no need to create a NexGen webshop but the customer did request the possibility to show his wide range of security cameras in order for his potential clients to examine and review them. Additionally the customer requested a company blog with the purpose of sharing interesting news and other information with their clients.
A homepage with advanced jQuery sliders
After carefully analyzing the delivered screenshots we provided the customer with an interesting quote and a planned completion time. It didn’t take long for the company to accept our offer and to send their PSD and font files, which was the signal for our PSD to Drupal developer to start the project. As a first step in the project our developer focused on the PSD to HTML process. The homepage consisted of a header section containing a logo, various social network links and a menu. Behind this section we created an advanced slider which took some time to implement because the different slider items consisted of a title, an image and a small text with a hyperlink which needed to interlink with the text. Fortunately, the developer showed the right spirit and disposed of the perfect jQuery slider skill set to complete this complicated task within 30 minutes. Below the slider the three most recent blog items needed to be displayed and below the blog items some company information and a product catalogue link where needed. The website footer on its turn needed to consist of 4 images which had to link to the company’s 4 main product categories.
Drupal requires years of experience
During the PSD to HTML conversion some of the subpages only needed some small adjustments limiting the duration of the complete HTML and CSS for this particular Drupal project to less than 6 hours. Upon completion of the HTML and CSS process the developer started with the actual PSD to Drupal process and the HTML and CSS were converted into a fully-fledged Drupal template. The HTML to Drupal process itself went very smoothly because our developer had kept in mind to build the HTML as a first step in the whole design process. He also made sure all content, even the slider content, could be easily updated by someone with little to no Drupal experience or knowledge. The easiness of updating the content is clearly a result of the multi-year PSD to Drupal experience of our developers. All of our developers have been carefully chosen, based on their expertise and experience. The customer was pleasantly surprised by the fast completion and server installation time of the whole Drupal website project. There were still a few bugs but we managed to solve these bugs the same day, being able to deliver this PSD to Drupal project two days before the agreed deadline.
