YesDress is a new brand that decided to start selling women’s fashion via an online webshop. When the owner took up contact, we already assumed she was going to request a PSD to Magento project because she was planning to sell a wide variety of garments in various categories. A professional webdesign company had already designed the website. Initially she sent us some PSD file screenshots. All of the files seemed of a good quality and also the proposed offer was quickly accepted by our new client. As soon as we had agreed on all details and project steps we were sent the PSD files and non-web fonts. Taking a closer look at the PSD files though we were very disappointed because all PSD files were of a very low quality and it all looked like a big chaos. Our PSD to Magento developers nevertheless didn’t really care because they perfectly knew how to handle similar situations. The only big challenge now was to meet the very tight deadline because of the PSD file mess and the increased length of time it would now take to complete the PSD to HTML process.
An endangered deadline because of low-quality PSD files
We informed our client of the bad news and luckily enough she treated the news light-heartedly. We informed her that we might need a few extra days to complete the whole PSD to Magento project because of the low-quality PSD files. The client didn’t really mind and was willing to grant us a few extra days to complete the whole project. Of course internally we were still planning to complete the project within the initially set deadline because we do like a PSD to Magento process challenge. Our HTML developer quickly picked up the PSD files and one day after the set deadline for this project step all pages had been converted to HTML and CSS and all pages were displayed correctly in the various browsers. Although the HTML part had been completed, we still needed to complete the CSS by making the website full responsive. To realize the responsiveness we appealed to one of or PSD to Responsive developers. He needed the set time to adjust the website’s structure in order to ensure proper display on tablets and smartphones. After resolving some client feedback, a fully-responsive HTML had been created and all pages were properly displayed on all browsers, tablets and smartphones.
A passionate PSD to Magento developer meets the deadline
Our PSD to Magento developer was now confronted with a very challenging task because he had one day less to complete the whole HTML and CSS conversion into a fully-functional Magento theme. Our Magento developer nevertheless got off to a flying start and worked overtime a few hours each day to compensate the previously lost day. Thanks to his passionate approach and his hard work we managed to meet the initial deadline, we were able to stick to our original agreement and we didn’t need the extra granted days. Taking into account the PSD files’ bad quality we were of course very proud for having been able to meet the PSD to Magento project deadline. Our client was very satisfied about the end-result and for future projects she wasn’t going to appeal to her current webdesign company anymore, the company who had created her YesDress website and had caused the risk of being confronted with serious delays.
